An Autumn Guide to Web Design

Do you love autumn like me?

Pumpkin spice lattes. Crisp morning walks. Watching the leaves flutter to the ground. Cozy blankets draped over the couch. Reading books by candlelight. Gilmore Girls… of course.

The vibes are unmatched.

When autumn hits in Utah (October, here I come), I want to be both seasonally enamored and not sleeping on my website.

Here’s something I’m learning: a better website means less social media and marketing hustle. More slow mornings. More time for cozy reading over coffee.

So let’s get our website in shape… cozy autumn style:

1. Set the Vibes

Just like your cozy and crisp autumn vibes are unspoken yet overwhelmingly evident, your business vibes should feel the same way.

Grab your favorite dump journal (and if you don’t have one yet, go get one, girl) and write down your business vibes.

For me, it’s sweet, personal, and creative.

Now write a few ideas to integrate these vibes into your website and go integrate them!

2. Refresh the Closet

Preparing for autumn means putting away your summer dresses and sandals to make room for sweaters and leather boots.

Freshen up your website by choosing one element that’s least effective or least helpful to your visitors. Swap it out for something new that prepares you for this next season of business.

Maybe you love every element of your website (if only…). This is also a great opportunity to add a seasonal special or package your offer in a fresh way.

3. Create a Bucket List

An autumn bucket list is a staple in my getting-ready-for-fall routine: pumpkin picking, brewing homemade apple cider, taking photos in the canyon when the leaves change colors.

Running a business should be fun like an autumn bucketlist, even down to your website.

Brainstorm a list of small (or big) website improvements you can work on throughout this season. By wintertime, you’ll look back on fall with a sense of accomplishment and thankfulness for your efforts which will keep reaping benefits for years to come.

Are you ready for a cozy and profitable autumn? Let’s get to it!
